The World’s Unabashed Hypocrisy, Utter Indifference, and Unconscionable Inhumanity
February 25, 2020
An outpouring of blatant and unabashed hypocrisy occurred last month when a disingenuous collection of world leaders — including a Muslim group https://bit.ly/38PNjj3 and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier — obsequiously observed Holocaust Memorial Day by vowing to oppose “resurgent” anti-Semitism and echoing the post-Holocaust commitment of “Never Again.” Steinmeier expressed sorrow for his country’s role in the murder of six million Jews during World War Two while spinelessly avoiding mention of the still ongoing decades-long ethnic cleansing of Palestinians by God chosen Israelis whose arrogant impunity knows no bounds. What Steinmeier failed to comprehend was that Germany cannot compensate for its past persecution of innocent Jews through the toleration of crimes against humanity by a Zionist Apartheid state https://bit.ly/2S7Zhhw. If the pledge of “Never Again” with regard to the pursuance of human rights is going to be racially, and ethnically selective, then it has to be exposed as being nothing more than a hypocritical bullshit motivational slogan.
The pledge of “Never Again” — made by a people who have since established a global industry that is relentless in “playing the victim card” and ensuring that we always remember the Holocaust, are the same people who according to the If Americans Knew organisation have made Gaza uninhabitable, “not because of ecological disaster or Palestinian poor stewardship of the land, but because Israel chooses to destroy it by every means — poisoning, starvation, disease, poverty, medical neglect, and invasion — while the world stands silent.” https://bit.ly/2V6RGmc. And the world remains silent because to suggest that Palestinians are entitled to the same self-determination in a state of their own — that Israeli Jews vociferously demand for themselves on stolen and ethnically cleansed land — would be “anti-Semitic” rather than pro-Human Rights for everyone without exception.
“Antisemitism is a form of racism and as such must be opposed on general anti-racist principles, in solidarity with other anti-racist struggles and in concert with the principles of human rights and equality for all. Unfortunately, both the government of Israel and Zionist groups the world over are using society’s legitimate concern about antisemitism to redefine it to include criticism of Israel and the Zionist ideology behind it. Their goal is to suppress — and even criminalise — criticism of Israel and support for Palestinian rights. Indeed, according to a recent survey, almost half of Canadian Jews believe that accusations of antisemitism are ‘often used to silence legitimate criticism of Israeli policies.’”
Israel’s hypocrisy is evident from its own historic involvement in the genocide of other ethnic groups as was mentioned in a September 2017 report by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz with the headline “Israel Refuses to Stop Arms Sales to Myanmar, Despite Its Campaign of Rape, Torture and Massacres Against the Rohingya https://bit.ly/2RGkUq1. The paper’s report stated that in his response to a petition in the High Court of Justice from human-rights activists demanding an end to the arms sales, the state’s lawyer claimed that the court should not interfere in Israel’s foreign relations.
Other reports included one quoting an Israeli human rights activist who stated “successive Israeli governments have been selling arms to the military dictatorship in Burma for years . . . this policy is strongly related to Israel's oppression and dispossession of the Palestinian people. Weapons used against the Palestinians are being sold as ‘field-tested’ to some of the worst regimes on the planet.”
A human rights lawyer — who had submitted a succession of petitions to the Israeli courts in an effort to highlight details of Israel’s trade with human rights violating regimes — said the cases were intended to expedite the war crimes investigations of the officials and contractors involved. “Many Western states sell arms, but what’s unique about Israel is that, wherever war crimes and crimes against humanity are being committed, you find Israel is present . . . the companies selling the weapons, and the officials who quietly approve the trade, must be held accountable. Otherwise, why would this ever stop,” he asked while also noting that as well as fuelling the current violence in Myanmar and South Sudan, Israel had also been accused of being the covert provider of weapons for past perpetrations of genocide and ethnic cleansing in places such as Argentina, the Balkans, Chile, El Salvador, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Rwanda. https://bit.ly/2RXnNSe.
The world community’s reverent remembrance — with subservient hypocrisy — of the Jewish lives tragically lost during the Holocaust, stands in stark contrast to its actual concern for the sanctity of human life when it comes to the life and rights of children. Some 100,000 babies are dying annually as a result of war https://bit.ly/38faaEH; an estimated 6.2 million children and adolescents under the age of 15 years of age died — in what has been an annual “Holocaust” for many decades — from mostly preventable causes; 5.3 million of them passed away during the first 5 years with half of those deaths occurring during the first month of life; and civilised society’s interpretation of owing “the child the best it has to give” has meant that over 260 million children did not attend school and were consequently deprived of even a rudimentary education https://bit.ly/2Sk7S1J.
Some time ago a Global Issues report noted that child mortality had resulted in some “92 million children dying between 2000 and 2010” and that the “silent killers are poverty, hunger, easily preventable diseases and illnesses, and other related causes. Despite the scale of this daily/ongoing catastrophe, it rarely manages to achieve, much less sustain, prime-time, headline coverage.” The mainstream media’s reluctance to report on the issue has always been unwavering despite an alarming reality of endless holocausts with the death tolls of innocent children making a mockery of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child https://bit.ly/39tUy0E. In 1960 alone, the death toll for children was three times that of the number of Jews who perished in the Holocaust:
1970: 17,400,000 (-8%)
1980: 14,700,000 (-15%)
1990: 12,700,000 (-14%)
2000: 12,400,000 (-2%)
2010: 8,100,000 (-35%)
While most people in the world community assert with self-righteous hypocrisy to be compassionate and humane, the reality is that during 2018 those same people with utter indifference and unconscionable inhumanity allowed so-called elected “representatives” in government — according to data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute — to lavish $1.8 trillion on military spending https://bit.ly/3aayclG. To fully comprehend the scale of such expenditure, you have to understand that to squander $1.8 trillion, would require spending $1 million every day for 4,928 years.
“The responsibility for wars falls solely upon the shoulders of these same masses of people, for they have all the necessary means to avert war in their own hands. In part by their apathy, in part by their passivity, and in part actively, these same masses of people make possible the catastrophes under which they themselves suffer more than anyone else . . . ”
Wilhelm Reich (1897-1957), Austrian doctor of medicine and psychoanalyst, The Mass Psychology of Fascism
The prime example of a misplaced priority on military spending is in the US where it is estimated that between October 1, 2019, and September 30, 2020, $989 billion will be spent on the military. https://bit.ly/37jcnOt. Such extravagance to finance the military’s barbaric capacity for death and destruction completely disregards the dire reality of the State of the Union.
● More than 30 million adults in the United States cannot read, write, or do basic math above a third-grade level. — ProLiteracy
● Children whose parents have low literacy levels have a 72 percent chance of being at the lowest reading levels themselves. These children are more likely to get poor grades, display behavioural problems, have high absentee rates, repeat school years, or drop out. — National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER)
● 75 percent of state prison inmates did not complete high school or can be classified as low literate. — Rand Report: Evaluating the Effectiveness of Correctional Education
● Low literacy is said to be connected to over $230 billion a year in health care costs because almost half of Americans cannot read well enough to comprehend health information, incurring higher costs. — American Journal of Public Health
Making “America Great Again” will require a lot more than a jingoistic slogan by a virtually illiterate narcissist who apart from being mentally disturbed, is also a serial sexist and hate-filled racist with psychopathic tendencies; will require those Americans who are fair-minded, humane, and literate to take back their government from corrupt self-serving congressional members who once again betrayed the nation with the Senate’s morally reprehensible acquittal of a criminally deranged President displaying nothing but utter contempt for the rule of law and all other branches of government; will require ending the pernicious influence of AIPAC — which spends more than $100 million a year on lobbying politicians and sending members of Congress on trips to Israel https://on.wsj.com/31TH8bE — over US government policies that unconditionally favour and support Israel’s boundless criminality; and will require all other nations to emphatically resist the calamitous consequences of US foreign policy with its thuggish quest for global hegemony.
Failure to do so — and particularly in the West — will constitute complicity by silent indifference or actual involvement in the tragic state of the world today: a turbulent world where apathy, hatred, racism, selfishness, greed, human trafficking, violence, femicide, ethnic cleansing, and endless conflicts prevail; where freedom of expression and a free press are subject to restriction and criminalisation; where gutless self-censorship by corporate journalists is overseen by newsroom editors inhibited by their own cowardice and the vested interests of media proprietors; where technology’s potential to liberate is instead used to condition, control, and condemn people to being subservient subjects rather than critical citizens; where the European Union is disunited and deteriorating, and the American Dream has become a nightmare and democracy is dead under the presidency of a deranged lunatic; where the opponents of truth, freedom, and justice continue to be highly organised, well financed, efficiently deployed, and in complete control; and finally, where those in control definitely don’t want you to know the truth.
“If you are not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.”
