Dear Mrs. May,
While we the British people have come to expect two-faced, mealy-mouthed, hypocrisy from most politicians as epitomised by the shameless Tony Blair, you as the incumbent Prime Minister have a legal and moral obligation to reject such political chicanery and instead to act and speak in accordance with the core values — Liberty, Equality, Justice — that are claimed as being the hallmark of British democracy. In this respect, Prime Minister, you have so far not only failed miserably, but have also possibly done so to the extent of being treacherous. goo.gl/aNxsLd How can any decent and honest political leader make the above quoted statement despite almost seven decades of recorded and irrefutable crimes against humanity and international law violations by a barbarous Apartheid state — totally intent on displacing the indigenous Palestinian people and stealing their land — which justifies its blatant criminality by making the preposterous claim that God chose the Jews and promised them Palestine?
Apart from the nausea generated by your brown-nosing performances at Conservative Friends of Israel luncheons — there are no such “Conservative Friends” for the destitute, disadvantaged, and disabled of this country — you also made a point during 2017 of lauding the notorious Balfour Declaration’s role in the creation of Israel goo.gl/NRwVHi but failed to mention that Israel had as usual contemptuously ignored honouring a very important part of that 1917 declaration:
“His Majesty's government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country.”
Furthermore, Prime Minister, in view of the amount of time you dedicate to the two greatest loves in your life — Israel goo.gl/Ycdbrz and shoes goo.gl/EkaBwj — you may not be aware that the rights of the existing non-Jewish inhabitants of Palestine were further recognised two years later in 1919 when U.S. President Woodrow Wilson dispatched the King-Crane Commission to areas of the former Ottoman Empire to seek opinions about their future governance. In the section concerning Palestine and Zionism the report explicitly stated the following:
“If the strict terms of the Balfour Statement are adhered to it can hardly be doubted that the extreme Zionist Program must be greatly modified. For a “national home for the Jewish people” is not equivalent to making Palestine into a Jewish State; nor can the erection of such a Jewish State be accomplished without the gravest trespass upon the ‘civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine.’ The fact came out repeatedly in the Commission’s conference with Jewish representatives, that the Zionists looked forward to a practically complete dispossession of the present non-Jewish inhabitants of Palestine, by various forms of purchase.
“The non-Jewish population of Palestine, nearly nine-tenths of the whole, are emphatically against the entire Zionist program. To subject a people so minded to unlimited Jewish immigration, and to steady financial and social pressure to surrender the land, would be a gross violation of the peoples’ rights. No British officer, consulted by the Commissioners, believed that the Zionist program could be carried out except by force of arms . . . Decisions, requiring armies to carry out, are sometimes necessary, but they are surely not gratuitously to be taken in the interests of a serious injustice. The initial claim, often submitted by Zionist representatives, that they have a ‘right’ to Palestine, based on an occupation of two thousand years ago, can hardly be seriously considered.
“In view of all these considerations, and with a deep sense of sympathy for the Jewish cause, the Commissioners feel bound to recommend that only a greatly reduced Zionist program be attempted, and even that, only very gradually initiated. This would have to mean that Jewish immigration should be definitely limited, and that the project for making Palestine distinctly a Jewish commonwealth should be given up.”

It is therefore a most regrettable betrayal of the British people and the values they cherish, Prime Minister, that no member of your Israeli bought and payed for government — yourself included — has a scintilla of either the courage or integrity as was possessed by the late Sir Gerald Kaufman (1930-2017) the Jewish Labour politician who had been an MP since 1970. It was he, you may recall, who said that “my grandmother was ill in bed when the Nazis came to her home town. A German soldier shot her dead in her bed.
