Criminalisation As A Strategy To Silence Human Rights Activism Is The Greatest Threat To Humanity

Principled Support For The Palestinian People’s Desire To Have The Same Rights And Opportunities As Israeli Jews Has Now Been Slanderously Categorised As Anti-Semitic And Prosecutable As A Criminal Offence

“Human rights defenders are those individuals, groups and organs of society that promote and protect universally recognised human rights and fundamental freedoms. Human rights defenders seek the promotion and protection of civil and political rights as well as the promotion, protection and realisation of economic, social and cultural rights. Human rights defenders also promote and protect the rights of members of groups such as indigenous communities. The definition does not include those individuals or groups who commit or propagate violence.”

EU Guidelines on Human Rights Defenders

With the United Nations (UN) having been made impotent by Security Council vetoes from a U.S. government controlled by the Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) — ( — and a selectively biased against Africa International Criminal Court (ICC) wallowing in allegations of neo-imperialism and racism, the chances of the blatant Israeli human rights violations or Western imperialist barbarism being impartially investigated and effectively punished are now virtually non-existent. The U.S. has vetoed some 50 UN resolutions concerning Israel, and of 39 recent cases investigated by the ICC, 38 were on the African continent. In view of the abysmal failure of such august international organisations to enforce some degree of impartial universal justice, the urgent necessity for doing so has by default become the responsibility of individual human rights activists and organisations.

While it was comparatively easy to coercively control the corruptible ICC and UN because they operate within an international political system susceptible to blackmail, bribery, bullying — ( — the forcing of individual human rights activists and organisations into silent toleration of international law violations was more problematic and required alternative strategies including legislation that criminalised the right to freedom of speech and choice as is currently the case with regards to the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) peaceful movement against Israel. Israel’s response to BDS has been to surreptitiously orchestrate a proxy war against it by browbeating Western nations — led by Israel’s perpetually obliging lackey the U.S. — into enacting legislation that would criminalise support for BDS. (

Israel’s promotion of such repressive legislation, otherwise known as “lawfare,” was intended to encourage anti-boycott legislation in friendly capitals around the world including Canberra, Ottawa, and Washington; to push for lawsuits in Antipodean, European, and North American courts against pro-BDS individuals and organisations; to support legal actions against financial institutions that boycott illegal Jewish settlements and/or Israeli companies; to ban anyone suspected of supporting BDS from entering Israel; and to ensure the success of such endeavours by activating a relentless global campaign by unprincipled Western politicians and pro-Israel lobby groups — led by AIPAC— who would resort to using Israel’s ultimate weapon of mass distortion by accusing the BDS movement of being “anti-Semitic.” (

“Many of the young people here today are on the front lines of the battle to oppose the alarming Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement known as BDS . . . Particularly at a time when anti-Semitism is on the rise across the world, especially in Europe, we must repudiate all efforts to malign, isolate, and undermine Israel and the Jewish people.”

Verification of Israel’s success in this particular undertaking is nowhere more apparent than in the U.S. where democracy has become an illusional joke at the expense of American taxpayers for whom the reality — while daily providing Israel with $11 million in aid — is that half of Americans are living below or near the poverty line with over 40 million of them receiving food stamps; is that in any given month, some 1.7 million households are living on a cash income of less than $2 per person per day; is that One out of seven people in the U.S. is living in poverty; is that some 45 million of them are living below the poverty line; is that almost one out of sixteen of them is living in deep poverty; is that racial and ethnic minorities, women, children, and families headed by single women are particularly vulnerable to poverty and deep poverty; is that Blacks and Hispanics are more likely than whites to be poor, and to be in poverty and deep poverty; is that children represent more than one-third of the people living in poverty and deep poverty; is that poverty is a women's issue with female-headed families being more likely to be poor; and is that over a quarter of adults with a disability live in poverty. And lest we forget: According to a recent study conducted by the U.S. Department of Education and the National Institute of Literacy, 32 million adults in the U.S. can't read (14 percent of the population); 21 percent of adults in the U.S. read below a 5th grade level; and 19 percent of high school graduates can't read. Which may explain why AIPAC has no problem in brainwashing most Americans of whom, incidentally, 62,984,825 voted for an illiterate psychopath to become the next President. (

Consequently the gradual subversion of so-called Western democracies by restrictive legislation is nowhere more evident than in the U.S. where the the opening phrase of “We the People” in the preamble to the country’s Constitution has been replaced by humbug if not treasonous declarations such as that uttered in September 1998 by the soon to be impeached President Bill “I did not have sexual relations with that woman” Clinton:

“America and Israel share a special bond. Our relations are unique among all nations. Like America, Israel is a strong democracy, as a symbol of freedom, and an oasis of liberty, a home to the oppressed and persecuted . . . The relationship between our two countries is built on shared understandings and values. Our peoples continue to enjoy the fruits of our excellent economic and cultural cooperation as we prepare to enter the twenty-first century.”

The problem with having legislation that suppresses criticism of Israel’s systematic violations of international law with barbaric policies of illegal colonisation and overwhelming Israeli “Defence” Force Apartheid oppression that amounts to deliberate ethnic cleansing, is that such legislation can also be used by Western governments to suppress dissent against their own unpopular polices by “citizens” whose loss of freedoms transforms them into abject, subservient, powerless, and fearful subjects. The nature of such fear was noted by Charles A. Weisman in his book Who is Esau-Edom?: “Ever since the Jews invented the libel charge of ‘anti-Semitism’ in the 1880s. It was first printed in the Jewish Encyclopaedia (1901 Vol. 1, p. 641), and has been built up with Jewish money, organisations, propaganda and lies (such as the Holocaust — Holohoax), so that now the word is like a snake venom which paralyses one’s nervous system. Even the mention of the word ‘Jew’ is shunned unless used in a most favourable and positive context.” For understandable reasons, the insidious use of such fear has been particularly successful in Germany. (

Without an unfettered press, without liberty of speech, all of the outward forms and structures of free institutions are a sham, a pretence — the sheerest mockery. If the press is not free; if speech is not independent and untrammelled; if the mind is shackled or made impotent through fear, it makes no difference under what form of government you live, you are a subject and not a citizen.”

William E. Borah (1865-1940), prominent Republican attorney and longtime U.S. Senator known as “The Lion of Idaho.”
