The “Advancement Of Democracy”: A Neocon-Zionist Alliance Smokescreen For U.S. Hegemony And Globalis
U.S. Department of State
Advancing Freedom and Democracy
“We look forward to working with all who embrace genuine and inclusive democracy. What we will oppose is an attempt by any group to restrict the rights of others, and to hold power through coercion and not consent. Because democracy depends not only on elections, but also strong and accountable institutions, and the respect for the rights of minorities [But none of this applies to the Palestinian people]”
President Barack Obama
The Advancing Freedom and Democracy Report describes efforts by the U.S. Government to support democracy and human rights in nondemocratic countries and countries undergoing democratic transitions worldwide. The U.S. Department of State submits this report in accordance with the (ADVANCE Democracy Act of 2007.)
“This and no other is the root from which a tyrant springs; when he first appears he is a protector.”
Plato: Ancient Greek philosopher (428/427-348/347 B.C.)
War criminal hypocrite President Obama — unbelievably the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winner — unashamedly disregards the ethnic cleansing of Palestinian people because he and the U.S. Department of State being Neocon-Zionist Alliance lackeys are not answerable to the American people, but to the Apartheid State of Israel which maintains that the “Palestinian people do not exist.” And as any self-respecting U.S. president or other Western double standards leader knows — what Israel says is gospel, and what Israel wants it gets because to question what it says, or to refuse what it wants, would be — wait for it — ANTI-SEMITIC!!!!!
The “advancement of democracy” overseas first became an integral part of U.S. foreign policy during the early 1900s when the U.S. began playing a major role on the international stage and used the “Advancement of democracy” as an excuse with which to oppose the rival ideologies of imperialism, fascism, and finally communism. U.S. obsession with communism manifested itself in a number of undemocratic ways including the Alien Registration Act which was passed by Congress in June 1940 (Within four months a total of 4,741,971 aliens had been registered to mainly undermine the American Communist Party); the investigations of the Hollywood Motion Picture Industry in 1947 by the House Un-American Activities Committee; and an era of witch hunts by Senator Joseph McCarthy which led to the word “McCarthyism” becoming synonymous with the practice of making wild accusations of subversion and treason without appropriate regard for evidence or due process.
Following the end of World War II when the First Indochina War began with tension between the independence-seeking Viet Minh and the returning French in late 1946, the Viet Minh led by General Giap, retreated to remote areas to train, gather support and instigate a protracted war with the help of the Viet Cong political organisation and army in South Vietnam. The ensuing French military failures led to France attempting to undermine the Viet Minh by establishing an independent republic of Vietnam under the puppet emperor Bao Dai who was allowed to form a Vietnamese National Army (VNA) in support of the French. In 1952-53 the Viet Minh invaded French-occupied Laos which led to the French Far-East Expeditionary Corps being decisively defeated at the Battle of Dien Bien Phu — March to May 1954 — and culminated in the signing of the 1954 Geneva Accords with the stipulations that Vietnam would be temporarily divided at the 17th. parallel and that an election would be held on July 1956 to decide the government of a reunified Vietnam.
Fearing a communist victory in the election, the U.S. — with its increasing post-war obsession of stemming the spread of communism — decided against holding the election and instead backed (with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency buying off or intimidating his opponents) the staunch anti-communist Ngo Dinh Diem in a fraudulent 1955 plebiscite that saw him win 600,000 votes from an electorate of 450,000 and establish a right-wing dictatorship in South Vietnam that ended in a coup and his assassination in on 2 November 1963. In the meantime, the Vietnamese Nationalist Movement leader Ho Chi Minh — who had already fought against the Japanese and the French colonial power — took on the US-backed South Vietnamese forces.
It was in Vietnam that the U.S. perfected its method of bringing freedom and democracy to other countries and for the Vietnamese people such U.S. freedom-providing largesse was launched from 30,000 feet overhead in the form of carpet bombing B-52s disgorging both Dumb and Guided Bombs, Fuel Air Explosives, Napalm, and Agent Orange. By the end of the war, seven million tons of bombs had been dropped on Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia which was more than twice the amount of bombs dropped on Europe and Asia in World War II. The war’s casualties included an estimated two million Vietnamese civilian deaths with massacres such as My Lai by U.S Forces; the U.S. herbicidal warfare programme’s use of Agent Orange which killed or maimed some 400,000 and to this day is still afflicting three million as a result birth defects — and that is without counting the millions more of their relatives who bear the hardship of looking after them; between 200,000 and 250,000 South Vietnamese soldiers killed; some 1.1 million North Vietnamese and Viet Cong fighters killed; and some 58,200 members of U.S. armed forces who had died or were missing. Ultimately it was for the U.S. a costly, divisive, and increasingly unpopular war that in 1973 led to the U.S. forces withdrawing with their tails between their legs and the unification of Vietnam under Communist control two years later.
“In the name of noble purposes men have committed unspeakable acts of cruelty against one another.”
Senator William J. Fulbright (1905-1974)
Despite its humiliation in Vietnam and domestic opposition to anymore overseas intrigues or military involvements, the U.S. — through the inappropriately named Central Intelligence Agency — maintained its obsession with communism by interfering in the affairs of other countries with special attention and resources being expended on Latin America as was the case in Chile where the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende (who in 1933 had helped to found the Chilean Socialist Party, a Marxist organisation opposed to the Soviet Union influenced Communist Party) was in 1973 toppled by CIA-backed General Augusto Pinochet at the Instigation of President Richard “I am not a crook” Nixon and as yet to be indicted war criminal Henry Kissinger.
So once again the U.S. had helped to advance democracy by laying the foundation and means for General Pinochet to save the Chilean people from socialism by having at least 35,000 subjected to human rights violations; by having 28.000 tortured; by having 2.279 executed; by having some 1.248 “disappeared”; and by causing some 200,000 to suffer exile with an unknown number going through clandestine centres and illegal detention.
“The welfare of the people in particular has always been the alibi of tyrants, and it provides the further advantage of giving the servants of tyranny a good conscience.”
Albert Camus, French novelist, essayist, and playwright (1913-1960)
Further persistent and clandestine U.S. interference in Latin America came to light November 3, 1986 when the Lebanese magazine Ash-Shiraa exposed the fact that during the Iran-Iraq war (September 1980 to August 1988), Iran secretly requested — despite an arms sales embargo against it — to purchase weapons from the United states. In seeking Reagan’s approval, National Security Advisor Robert McFarlane explained that such sales would not only improve U.S. relations with Iran, but might also enhance relations with Lebanon and increase U.S. influence in the cauldron of the Middle East. It was also thought that such sales would assist in securing the release of seven American hostages being held by Iranian terrorists in Lebanon — a problem with which Reagan was already preoccupied.
It was therefore planned that Israel — always happy to indulge in some illegal arms-dealing and thought to be already covertly supplying weapons to Iraq through its network of Jewish arms dealers — would ship to Iran the required weapons which the U.S would then replace with U.S. arms sales to Israel. It was hoped that in return the Iranians would do everything possible secure the release of the hostages. This proposal of arms-for-hostages divided the administration with longtime policy adversaries Secretary of State George Shultz and Secretary of Defence Caspar Weinberger being opposed the deal. But McFarlane and CIA director William Casey were for it and so with Reagan’s support the plan went ahead and came to be known as the Iran–Contra affair.
The U.S obsession with thwarting the spread of communism began to crumble when in 1986 Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev initiated his new policy of perestroika ( “restructuring”) which involved radical reforms that were followed by the introduction of Glasnost which gave the Soviet people freedoms they had never previously known including greater freedom of speech, far less press, censorship and the release of thousands of political prisoners and dissidents. Gorbachev’s service to the people of the Soviet Union culminated on Christmas Day 1991, when the Soviet flag flew over the Kremlin in Moscow for the last time.
A few days prior to that fateful event, representatives from 11 Soviet republics — Ukraine, the Russian Federation, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan — had met in the Kazakh city of Alma-Ata and announced that they would no longer be part of the Soviet Union. Instead, they declared they would establish a Commonwealth of Independent States. Because the three Baltic republics of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia had already declared their independence from the USSR, of its 15 republics, only Georgia remained. So thanks to great number of radical reforms implemented during Gorbachev’s six-year presidency, the once-mighty Soviet Union had fallen leaving the U.S. as the only superpower with China close on its heels. On that Christmas day Gorbachev resigned and brought a peaceful end to the long, terrifying and sometimes murderous epoch in world history.
The fall of the Soviet Union, which two-term President Ronald Reagan (1981-1988) had once described as the Evil Empire, meant the loss of America’s main enemy (excuse for warmongering) and caused consternation within the corridors of the U.S. military-industrial complex. But the merchants of death and destruction need not have been concerned because help was at hand from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC)-aligned Alliance of Neocon-Zionists who were only too happy to further promote (with covert Israeli approval and applause) the concept of Islam as the new enemy.
By ensuring the presence of Jews within the ranks of the Executive Branch of the U.S. government which is not elected but appointed and accountable only to the President, AIPAC and its allies can easily circumvent the democratic process to influence and promote policies that are favourable to the Apartheid state of Israel. If you are wondering how the U.S. had managed to become engaged in aggressive military action in at least 13 countries in the Greater Middle East since 1980 during which time every American president has invaded, occupied, bombed, or gone to war in at least one country in the region, then just consider the following list of a few prominent Jewish Neocons:
Elliot Abrams: American lawyer who served in foreign policy positions for Republican U.S. Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. During the latter’s first term in office, Abrams was Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director on the National Security Council for Near East and North African Affairs. At the start of Bush’s second term and despite being a leading neoconservative, Abrams became Deputy National Security Advisor for Global Democracy Strategy with responsibility for Bush’s strategy of advancing democracy abroad. In January 1998 he was one of the signatories of the Project for a New America Century (PNAC) letter sent to President Bill Clinton calling for a regime-change in Iraq.
Stephen Bryen: Is closely connected to various high-profile neoconservatives like Richard Perle, under whom he served when Perle was President Ronald Reagan’s assistant secretary of defence; has supported efforts of some hardline pro-Israel groups like the Centre for Security Policy (CSP) and the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA); in the mid-1970s, with other neoconservative figures, including Michael Ledeen, he helped establish JINSA as an important Washington-based think tank specialising in fostering close ties between the U.S. and Israeli militaries and played a role in choosing not only what U.S. weaponry Israel could purchase but also what sensitive U.S. military technology would be made available for Israel’s use in its own mushrooming arms industry which led to his being accused of using his Washington connections to benefit of Israel. In a January 2002 National Review Online article, Bryen promoted the false premise that Iraq had maintained a well-developed biological weapons program since the 1991 Gulf War, making it the “leading threat” to “global survival,” and even before 9/11 he was part of a core group of foreign policy hardliners and neoconservatives who advocated overthrowing Saddam Hussein.
Eliot Cohen: A member of the PNAC who was one of the first neoconservatives to publicly advocate war against Iran and Iraq with the lie that “We know that he [Saddam Hussain] supports terror. There’s very solid evidence that the Iraqis were behind an attempt to assassinate President Bush’s father. And we — by the way, we do know that there is a connection with the 9/11 terrorists.” Cohen is the Director of the Strategic Studies department at SAIS and has specialised in strategic studies, the Middle East, Persian Gulf, Iraq, arms control, and NATO and was regarded as “the most influential neoconservative in academe.”
Glen Greenwald of salon.com, has described Cohen as “extremist a neoconservative and warmonger as it gets,” and described his appointment by the Bush administration as follows: “The Cohen appointment, is clearly another instance where neoconservatives place a watchdog in potential trouble spots in the government to ensure that diplomats do not stray by trying to facilitate rapprochements between the U.S. and the countries on the neoconservative War hit list.”
Alan Dershowtiz: An American lawyer, jurist, author, and political commentator on issues related to Judaism, Israel, civil liberties, the war on terror, and the First Amendment, and appears frequently in the mainstream media as a guest who personifies the Zionist capacity for everything that is abhorrent to humanity. In his book Beyond Chutzpah, Jewish author Norman Finkelstein states that “It is hard to make out any difference between the policy Dershowitz advocates and the Nazi destruction of Lidice, for which he expresses abhorrence — except that Jews, not Germans, would be implementing it.”
Douglas Feith: Served in the number three position at the Pentagon, from July 2001 to August 2005, as the deputy undersecretary of defence for policy and was investigated for the alleged distortion of prewar intelligence on Iraq. He was also questioned by the FBI in relation to the passing by one of his employees of confidential Pentagon documents to AIPAC, which in turn passed them to the Israeli Embassy. With a Senate Intelligence Committee investigation, there seems little doubt that he operated in the Pentagon in such a way as to produce false and misleading “intelligence,” that he created an entirely false impression of Iraqi weapons capabilities and ties to al-Qaida, and that he is among the chief facilitators of the U.S. war in Iraq. Feith resigned ahead of the possible breaking of major scandals concerning his tenure at the Department of Defence, which in American history is among the more scandalous cases of deception of the American people.
David Frum: President George W. Bush’s former speechwriter who is widely credited for the phrase “axis of evil.” His book, An End to Evil, co-written with Richard Perle, defends the 2003 invasion of Iraq, and advocates regime change in Iran and Syria. His articles appear in the New York Times, Italy’s Il Foglio, and the Daily Telegraph, and Canada’s National Post newspaper.
Donald Kagan: An American historian at Yale University and fellow at the Hudson Institute who was one of the original signers to the 1997 Statement of Principles by the neoconservative PNAC.
Frederick Kagan: Co-authored a book with his father, Donald, While America Sleeps: Self-Delusion, Military Weakness, and the Threat to Peace Today (2000) which favoured massive military spending and warned of future threats, including from a potential revival of Iraq’s WMD program which everyone now knows never existed. Frederick, like his brother Robert and father Donald is also signatory of the neoconservative Project PNAC and was said to have the ear of President George W. Bush whom he strongly influenced over the subsequent “surge” plan for changing the course of the Iraq War.
Robert Kagan: An American neoconservative scholar and political commentator who has written for The New Republic, Policy Review, the Washington Post (monthly), and the Weekly Standard. He was foreign policy advisor to New York Representative and future Republican vice presidential candidate Jack Kemp; worked at the State Department Bureau of Inter-American Affairs (1985-1988); was a speechwriter for Secretary of State George P. Shultz (1984-1985); was a co-founder of the PNAC.
Henry Kissenger: Who served as National Security Advisor and later concurrently as Secretary of State in the administrations of Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford is still sought for advice by some U.S. presidents and world leaders. In 2002, President George W. Bush appointed him to chair a committee investigating the events of the 9/11 attacks. A definite candidate for trial as a war criminal.
Charles Krauthammer: A neoconservative columnist and commentator who appears regularly as a guest on Fox News (they both specialise in disinformation and blatant lies) and his poison pen scribbles appear in the Washington Post, Time magazine and The Weekly Standard. He once asserted that Saddam Hussein’s possession of weapons of mass destruction was certain and guaranteed their eventual discovery. unsurprisingly he is a staunch defender of the Likud party in Israel.
Bill Kristol: A strong advocate of the Iraq war; supported the Israeli attack on Lebanon; continues to favour a war with Iran; and once caused controversy by praising President George W. Bush’s second inaugural address without disclosing his role as a consultant to the writing of the speech.
Irving Kristol: Considered the founder of American neoconservatism; the founder of the politics and culture journal The Public Interest and the foreign affairs journal The National Interest. He is the Father of Bill Kristol
Scooter Libby: A former American corporate lawyer, policy advisor, and novelist who served as Assistant to President George W. Bush; served as Chief of Staff to the Vice President Dick Cheney and also as Assistant for National Security Affairs; and was active in the Defence Policy Board Advisory Committee of the Pentagon when it was chaired by Richard Perle during the early years of the George W. Bush administration. Former British Secretary of State Jack Straw once said of Libby that “It’s a toss-up whether [he] is working for the Israelis or the Americans on any given day.” In March 2007 Libby was convicted on two counts of perjury, one count of obstruction of justice in a grand jury investigation, and one of the two counts of making false statements to federal investigators.
Richard Perle: American political advisor and lobbyist and Reagan administration assistant Secretary of Defence who worked on the Defence Policy Board Advisory Committee from 1987 to 2004; was Chairman of the Board from 2001 to 2003 under the Bush Administration; is a member of several conservative think-tanks; has written extensively on various issues with claimed research interests on defence, national security, and the Middle East; was an advocate of regime change in Iraq; linked Saddam to Osama Bin Laden just a few days after 9/11; was criticised in a New York Times article for recommending that the Army purchase an armaments system from an Israeli company that a year earlier had paid him $50,000 in consulting fees; and in In 1996 participated in a study group that produced a report for the incoming Likud-led government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel that urged the country to break off then-ongoing peace initiatives and suggested strategies for reshaping the Middle East. Among the group’s arguments was the idea that “removing Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq [was] an important Israeli strategic objective in its own right. Perle is currently a prominent advocate for an attack on Iran.
Daniel Pipes: An American historian who is an outspoken Zionist and counter-terrorism analyst specialising in the Middle East; a regular columnist for the New York Sun and The Jerusalem Post, and a regular contributor to David Horowitz’s online publication FrontPage Magazine; has had his work published by many newspapers across North America; and is a frequent guest on American network television as a specialist on the Middle East. He was involved in attacks on academic freedom through the the publication of a list of academics critical of Israel and U.S. foreign policy. He has served in various capacities at the Departments of State and Defence, while his father served on the National Security Council
In 1987, Pipes encouraged the United States to provide Saddam Hussein with upgraded weapons and intelligence, as a means of counterbalancing Iran’s successes in the Iran-Iraq War, then in a complete turnaround he backed the Iraq War with the assertion that Saddam Hussein posed an “imminent threat” to the United States (another blatant Zionist lie). In an article published April 2003, Pipes opposed Egyptian President Mubarak’s concerned prediction that “[the] war [in Iraq] will have horrible consequences . . . Terrorism will be aggravated . . . Terrorist organisations will be united . . . Everything will be insecure,” by arguing that “the precise opposite is more likely to happen: The war in Iraq will lead to a reduction in terrorism.” How wrong can a Zionist be?
John Podhoretz: Steadfast defender of Israel who supported and Authored a book extolling U.S. President George W. [“They misunderestimated me”] Bush as “the first great leader of the 21st century.” Has been a regular columnist at the New York Post, a political commentator on Fox News, and frequent guest on CNN’s Reliable Sources. He has also worked at Time, the Washington Times, Insight, and U.S. News & World Report.
Norman Podhoretz: One of the original signers of PNAC who asserts that the War on Terror is a war against Islamofascism [as opposed to Ziofascism] and constitutes World War IV (World War III having been the Cold War) and advocates bombing Iran to pre-empt its acquisition of nuclear weapons. He is the father of John Podhoretz, a columnist for the New York Post which is owned by Rupert Murdoch — another hawkish power-obsessed friend of Israel.
Paul Wolfowitz: As U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defence during George W. Bush’s Presidency, he orchestrated Bush’s Iraq policy and was the Administration’s most passionate and compelling propagandist.
David Wurmser: U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney’s neoconservative Middle East Adviser who previously served as special assistant to John R. Bolton at the State Department and was a former research fellow on the Middle East at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI). In 2000, he helped draft a document entitled “Ending Syria’s Occupation of Lebanon: the US Role?” which called for a confrontation with the Damascus regime and falsely stated that Syria was developing “weapons of mass destruction.” Following the September 9/11 attacks, Undersecretary of Defence Douglas Feith appointed Wurmser and veteran defence analyst Michael Maloof as a secret two-man Pentagon intelligence unit which produced a memo that suggested “hitting targets outside the Middle East in the initial offensive” or a “non-Al Qaeda target like Iraq.” In September 2004, the Washington Post reported that FBI counterintelligence investigators had questioned Wurmser, Feith, Harold Rhode, and Paul Wolfowitz about the passing of classified information to Ahmad Chalabi and/or the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. Wurmser’s wife, Dr. Meyrav Wurmser, co-founded the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).
Dov Zakheim: Served as a foreign policy advisor to George W. Bush during the 2000 U.S. Presidential election campaign; was appointed and served as Undersecretary of Defence and Comptroller from 2001 to 2004 during which time he was tasked to help track down the Pentagon’s 2.6 trillion dollars ($2,600,000,000,000) worth of unaccounted transactions. As an Orthodox Jew, he gained notoriety for his involvement in ending the Israeli fighter program, the IAI Lavi. He argued that Israeli and U.S. interests would be best served by having Israel purchase F-16 fighters, rather than investing in an entirely new aircraft. He retired as a Senior Vice President of Booz Allen Hamilton in 2010 and is currently a Senior Fellow at the CNA Corporation, a Senior Advisor at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies.
Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc. is one of the oldest and most controversial strategy consulting firms in the world which in financial year 2007 generated annual total sales of over $4 billion
The aforementioned are just a some from the list that amongst others also included Joshua Bolten, Max Boot, Marc Grossman, and James Schlesinger who without actually being democratically elected to positions of influence, have nonetheless on behalf of Israel managed with disregard for and in defiance of the best interests of the American people to skew U.S Foreign policy to provide unprecedented support — in both economic and military terms — to an Apartheid war criminal state that with impunity continues to violate international law and human rights. They have managed to finagle the U.S. into endless military conflicts against what is in effect Israeli-instigated
“Islamic terrorism” that serves as a distraction from Israel’s own unquestionable barbaric criminality. They ensure that focus within the mainstream media remains on Iran’s nuclear development program — Iran does not have any nuclear weapons — while ignoring Israel’s nuclear weapons stockpile and complete disregard for the Non-Proliferation Treaty. They are responsible for more enforced displacement and violent death of human beings than any tyrant like Saddam Hussain could ever hope to achieve. They are the Neocon-Zionists who will not be content until the world is plunged into another World War.
“Israelis and American Jews fully agree that the memory of the Holocaust is an indispensable weapon — one that must be used relentlessly against their common enemy . . . Jewish organisations and individuals thus labour continuously to remind the world of it. In America, the perpetuation of the Holocaust memory is now a $100-million-a-year enterprise, part of which is government funded.”
According to Israeli author Moshe Leshem, the expansion of Israeli power is commensurate with the expansion of “Holocaust” propaganda. Balaam’s Curse: How Israel Lost its Way, and How it Can Find it Again, Simon & Schuster, 1989.
