Belligerent Insults and Vitriol: the Ultimate and Only Resort of the Bigoted, the Blinkered, and the Bloody-Minded

“There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all argument, and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance. This principle is, contempt prior to examination.”
Rev. William H. Poole
“If this nation is to be wise as well as strong, if we are to achieve our destiny, then we need more new ideas for more wise men reading more good books in more public libraries. These libraries should be open to all—except the censor. We must know all the facts and hear all the alternatives and listen to all the criticisms. Let us welcome controversial books and controversial authors. For the Bill of Rights is the guardian of our security as well as our liberty.”
John F. Kennedy — response to a Saturday Review questionnaire, October 29, 1960.
Despite the irrefutable historic fact of Israeli war crimes during the Nabka — the 1948 Catastrophe of the Palestinian Exodus — that caused more than 700,000 Palestinians to be either forcibly expelled or terrorised into fleeing from their homes as a result of Zionist atrocities such as the almost 60 massacres listed in the following must read link, there are still many people — mostly Jews and North Americans with many of the latter being able to cite endless sporting statistics but failing to locate their own country on an unmarked map of the world — whose ignorant and distorted perspectives leads them to vociferously assert that it is the Palestinians who are the terrorists and that it is not the Palestinians, but the Israelis who have every right to defend themselves.
Because such bigoted, blinkered, and bloody-minded people have neither the capacity for reasoned debate nor possession of any facts with which to substantiate their absurd assertions, they inevitably resort to their usual stock-in-trade belligerence, insults, and accusations of anti-Semitism. It should perhaps be be noted that if insults are directed at any other ethnic group including many that are also of Semitic origin — “Palestinians are beasts” and “deserve to die” — then that is acceptable. But if a Jew is insulted, then all hell will break loose with accusations of anti-Semitism because Jews — with complete disregard for other Semitic ethnic groups — have selfishly hijacked for themselves the sole rights to the concept of anti-Semitism while simultaneously instilling the misguided and easily disproved public perception that throughout history it has always been the Jews who were the “victims”
For most people, reading a long list of Israeli crimes against humanity makes for tedious reading compared to watching more entertaining and “informative” reality television programmes that bolster the stupefying illusion that we as human beings are inordinately concerned for the fate of humanity. To take time to just consider — let alone actually do something about — the desperate plight of the Palestinian people is therefore not a priority in our daily schedules. Besides, Jewish monopoly of the corporate mass media ensures that we are repeatedly assured that Israel is only defending itself and to suggest otherwise would be Holocaust-denying anti-Semitism.
To further reinforce the perception of “Jews” (a word that Zionists have now made synonymous with “Israelis”) as the perennial “victims” deserving of special consideration and dispensation from the requirement to respect international law, requires Zionist propaganda saturation by a highly financed “Holocaust Industry” and the determined recruitment — a highly refined Israeli ploy of blackmail and bribery — of western politicians who will ensure that their governments maintain pro-Israel positions.
“We, Representatives of our respective Parliaments from across the world, convening in London for the founding Conference and Summit of the Inter-parliamentary Coalition for Combating Anti-Semitism, draw the democratic world’s attention to the resurgence of anti-Semitism as a potent force in politics, international affairs and society.
“We note the dramatic increase in recorded anti-Semitic hate crimes and attacks targeting Jewish persons and property, and Jewish religious, educational and communal institutions.
“We are alarmed at the resurrection of the old language of prejudice and its modern manifestations in rhetoric and political action — against Jews, Jewish belief and practice and the State of Israel.
“We are alarmed by Government-backed anti-Semitism in general, and state-backed genocidal anti-Semitism, in particular.
“We, as Parliamentarians, affirm our commitment to a comprehensive programme of action to meet this challenge.
“We call upon national governments, parliaments, international institutions, political and civic leaders, NGOs, and civil society to affirm democratic and human values, build societies based on respect and citizenship and combat any manifestations of anti-Semitism and discrimination.”
The Sheer hypocrisy of such Israel orchestrated gatherings and the bigoted, blinkered and bloody-minded mentalities of those representing their respective governments is really mind-boggling in view of the timing of such an event. It should not be forgotten that in 2008 Barack Obama won the November U.S. presidential election on the back of having promised that if elected he would "not waste a minute” in brokering a Middle East peace — a peace that Israel had deliberately avoided, did not want, and would never be a party to. Peace for Israel would mean having to stop its continual building of more illegal Jewish settlements as a means of stealing more Palestinian and fragmenting Palestinian territories so as to prevent any realistic possibility of a two state solution.
It was therefore necessary to remind the presumptuous, upstart Obama — and the rest of the world— that it was Israel that determined U.S. and EU Middle East policy. Accordingly at midday on Saturday 27 December 2008 while the Western world was still preoccupied with the Christmas holidays, Israeli forces without warning began a devastating bombing campaign on the Gaza Strip with the stated intention of ending rocket attacks by armed groups affiliated with Hamas and other Palestinian factions. In launching Operation Cast Lead, Israel was as always just “defending itself” with a barbaric onslaught — carried out by its “most moral army in the world” which also used Palestinians as guinea pigs on which to test new weaponry — that lasted for 22 days until January 21, 2009, just one day after the inauguration of the new U.S. President, Barack Obama.
A subsequent United Nations report revealed that the Israeli offensive had killed 1,330 (including 431 children and 112 women) and wounded 5,380 Palestinians with only 14 dead Israelis (10 soldiers, of whom four were killed by “friendly fire” and four civilians). According to the Palestinian Authority’s central statistics bureau, more than 4,000 Palestinian homes were completely demolished and over 17,000 others were damaged with estimated losses totalling more than two billion dollars. Yet despite this atrocity which was only a part of a wider ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people, the London gathering of western government representatives supported a declaration that accepted and recognised the rights of Jews while omitting to mention the rights of all other peoples including the Palestinians.
Following delay of more than a year, in July 2011, the Canadian Parliamentary Coalition to Combat Antisemitism (CPCCA) released the report of its inquiry. Born out of the February 2009 London Declaration on Combating Antisemitism, the report raised questions about the propriety of the CPCCA and that of other such organisations who dedicate themselves to combating only anti-Semitism while ignoring racism and human rights violations against other ethnic groups. Later that year the CPCCA also hosted an international conference in the Canadian Parliament Buildings with doors closed to the public and the media. It was financed by $451,280 of public funds, provided by Jason Kenney, the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism. Guests included the Inter-Parliamentary Committee to Combat Antisemitism (ICCA) and self-appointed supporters of Israel who are Parliamentarians in various countries.
Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME) questioned grave misrepresentations in the report with critics pointing out that Prime Minister Stephen Harper's government is so pro-Israel that It will vote at the UN against recognition of a Palestinian state on only half the land that Canadian diplomats promised Palestine 60 years ago; that it will support illegal settlers and the extreme right in blocking recognition that would redress a travesty of justice; that it would do so despite Canada having spent tens of millions of dollars on “state-building” measures for Palestinians; that it will do all this despite the fact that more Canadians were in favour of the Palestinian bid for UN membership, than voted Conservative in the last election.
Stephen Harper described criticism of Israel as a new form of anti-Semitism and the CPCCA’s obvious motive was to stifle criticism of Israeli policies and disrupt pro-Palestinian solidarity organisations and events in Canada, including Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) lectures and rallies. Most of the CPCCA's findings were rejected as having recklessly undermined the combating of real occurrences of anti-Semitism by stifling freedom of speech and the right to peacefully protest.
Between November 2009 and January 2010, the CPCCA held ten separate hearings during which time representatives of various non-governmental organisations, religious institutions, police departments and Canadian and Israeli universities presented papers meant to assess the level of anti-Semitism in Canada. Though groups critical of Israel were denied the opportunity to address the committee, major Zionist organisations like B'nai Brith Canada, Friends of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre for Holocaust Studies, and the Canadian Jewish Congress were embraced with open arms.
During the entire consultation process, the CPCCA repeatedly focused on Canadian university campuses which were falsely described as hotbeds of anti-Semitism with the accusation being made repeatedly and included in the final report. This was despite the fact that Dr. Fred Lowy, President Emeritus of Concordia University in Montreal, stated in his address to the CPCCA that, “by and large, Canadian campuses are safe and are not hotbeds of anti-Semitism of any kind.”
In its final report, the CPCCA made some two dozen recommendations on how best to fight anti-Semitism in Canada. Though the report stated that “criticism of Israel is not anti-Semitic, and saying so is wrong,” it also found that “singling Israel out for selective condemnation and opprobrium . . . is discriminatory and hateful” with many of its recommendations dealing with combating this “new anti-Semitism.” Having had to face the reality of there being very little of the “old anti-Semitism” about, they had to invent a “new anti-Semitism” with which to intimidate and bludgeon into silence anyone daring to criticise Israeli crimes. The apparent success of such efforts could not have been achieved without the wholehearted assistance those bigoted, blinkered, bloody-minded, and obviously ignorant individuals who because of their own lack of any moral values seek to silence those that have by subjecting them to insults and vitriol.
To demand for oneself special considerations and rights that are denied to the Palestinian people; to regard oneself as being “God-chosen” and therefore separate from and superior to others; To demand trial and punishment for those responsible for the Holocaust while you yourself are committing crimes against humanity; to silence criticism of your own crimes against humanity by coercing other nations to criminalise such criticism; to actively subvert the democratic governance of other nations so as to accommodate your own selfish and illegal objectives; to unashamedly and overtly call for the genocidal eradication of the Palestinian people so as to achieve a greater Eretz Yisrael (Land of Israel); and to do all this behind the facade of fulfilling fabricated Biblical commandments and prophesy — is not a very smart way of combating anti-Semitism.
“I find your perspective and the vitriolic tenor, theme, conspiracy theories, anti Zionist, anti Semitic, anti Israel, anti US . . . etc, etc abhorrent.”
From one of this “myopic” writer’s better informed admirers who of course offered no actual evidence to substantiate any of the above.
